NC Library Advocacy & Legislation Committee

“It is the mission of the NCLA Advocacy and Legislative Committee to serve as a catalyst and  resource to librarians and interested parties by providing tools to support the actions of decision makers by focusing on the value of libraries and the positive effects they have in their communities.”

We represent a collaboration of North Carolina public, school, and university libraries in support of the central role libraries play in the well-being and quality of life of all North Carolina citizens.

The foundation of a civilized society resides in its ability to make knowledge freely and ubiquitously available to all of its citizenry regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, or zip-code.
