Amy Bacon

Amy Bacon is a graduate student at UNCG and has lived in North Carolina for over two decades.  She is currently working full-time in a public library.  Her main area of interest is digital librarianship, including information literacy and accessibility.  The integration of language access (especially American Sign Language) in the public library setting is particularly important to her.  When she is not at work or tending to school matters, she is most likely in a park with her dog, Dovah, or cooking, sewing, or watching Frasier with her cat, Persephone.
As a social media coordinator for the non-profit organization, HorseFriends NC, she worked on updating the website with information about the new location and horses.  Social media posts were focused more on letting followers get to know the new executive director and volunteers.  It was a challenge to keep followers captivated in content from the social media websites, but it was important to keep them interested.
