Whitney G. Chrisco

Whitney Chrisco is our Summer 2020 intern working with HorseFriends Therapeutic Riding program, which provides equine therapy for both children and adults. Their mission is “sharing the blessings of Christ with our community by providing equine programs that develop confidence, as well as physical, and emotional strength for our participants and volunteers.”

Whitney is in her final year as a graduate student in UNCG’s Masters of Library and Information Studies program. Through various social media platforms, she uses her expertise to show the world what HorseFriends is doing. Additionally, she helps manage a GoFundMe Campaign for HorseFriends as they seek alternative means of fundraising during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Currently, she works full-time as a School Library Media Coordinator at Bethany Elementary School in Rockingham County, NC. She first entered the field of education, as a science teacher,  after leaving her career as a fisheries biologist for the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries. When she is not working, she enjoys time fishing and camping with her husband Adam, and their two children, Benjamin and Caroline.
